When I think of having someone “more accessible” to online
graduate students, I think of having a substitute teacher accessible online 24
hours: I’ll give you an example: When you log onto a webpage and the “chat now”
appears, asking if you have a question.
You, as the customer will ask the question and customer service will
respond, helping you with your question.
As Marist online graduate students, if we have any question regarding
classes, lectures, exams, projects, etc; by having a “chat now” pop-up
accessible 24-hour to the students, we are less likely to be stressed when
looking for answers. Especially when we
know that a professional is at arms reach.
I like that idea! How would we budget for it, though? Hiring 24-hour staff would be a big deal. Or would it be other graduate students, like teaching assistants? Maybe we could pay them in credits. :)
ReplyDeleteIt could be other graduate students who already took the course and yes, pay them in credits or recent graduate students who want to earn extra cash (not a lot).
ReplyDeleteThat's a great idea! I'm sure many students would be willing to do it for experience or a small price, especially because they could do it from anywhere on their smartphone or tablet.
ReplyDeleteGreat idea!
